Power Tools: MakeWith's Live Storytelling Event

Women & queer folks share what it really takes to build the skills to take care of ourselves and each other!

Power Tools is a community storytelling event exploring the ins and outs, mistakes, fears, and challenges of learning new skills -- especially ones related to building, fixing, and surviving. So often excluded from these categories of skills, both as amateurs and professionals, women and queer folks get the chance to step on stage and share their experiences with learning, practicing, failing, overcoming, and sometimes mastering (if you’re into that), the “hard skills” of life. 

For our first event, three storytellers respond to the theme: ORIGINS and tell us about the experiences that lit their desire (or need) to build their skills and what happened when they finally got the ball rolling.

In addition to our main program, we've got other fun surprises in store for you, including a RAFFLE with three great prizes.

Event Details

• Doors at 7, show starts at 7:30pm
• $5-$15 sliding scale
• One complimentary raffle ticket is included with the price of admission. Additional tickets available for purchase.
• Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase.

About MakeWith MakeWith Hardware & Learning Center is a queer-owned learning center dedicated to building resilience skills in Portland and beyond. We provide beginner-friendly workshops on home maintenance, repair, emergency preparedness and other self-sufficiency skills. MakeWith aims to to increase our collective capabilities to adapt to shifting environmental and economic circumstances especially for women, queer/trans and BIPOC learners.
