Night 1: Maestro!

The fun, the drama, the excitement – Maestro Impro™, the most famous competition-style improv-format across the world. Participants from all over Ottawa's improv scene will play with each other in scenes and challenges, but the audience decides who stays in the show and who has to leave the stage, until only one improvisor remains – The Maestro.

Format created by Keith Johnstone, and licensed as part of ITI.

Night 2: The Improv Double Feature!

Two amazing improvised plays for the price of one:

WIT Presents: Space Cowboy, an Improvised Space Western

In the wild reaches of space, where law and order is more of of a suggestion than a right, this ragtag crew must do whatever it takes to survive. They’ll take any job as long as it pays, and as long as they get to keep flying free. Because out here on the edges of space, the only thing you can count on is your friends.

Presented by Wayward Improvised Theatre and featuring a plethora of Ottawa improv luminaries, Space Cowboy is an unscripted space western in the style of Cowboy Bebop and Firefly.

Paralellogramophonograph Presents: Improvised French Farce

Parallelogramophonograph comes all the way from Austin, Texas to present their award-winning comedy spectacular - Improvised French Farce. French Farce is an exploration of the latent comedy in social status. Infidelity, insecurity, and insatiable appetites for wealth and power collide with riveting consequences. No topic is taboo; No neurosis is too absurd. Rich in physical humor and wordplay, French Farce is an unfettered delight. Watch as the powerhouse four-person ensemble turns a blank stage into a French salon, a blank script into sharp social commentary, and “improv comedy” into “théâtre improvisé”.

About Wayward Improvised Theatre:

WIT is Ottawa's newest home for theatrical improv! We showcase many different kinds of improv: short form (games like you might see on Whose Line is it Anyway?), long form (longer scenes that feature relationship and character work) or narrative (a full-length play made up on the spot).

We host and produce improv bi-monthly at Arts Court in our fair nation's capital. For more information about WIT and what we do please visit www.waywardimprov.com.

About Parallelogramophonograph:

Parallelogramophonograph (Kareem Badr, Kaci Beeler, Roy Janik, and Valerie Ward) has been performing together for over 18 years and 1400 shows (and counting!). Fiercely dedicated to the craft and art of improvised theatre, PGraph has held a weekly show in Austin since 2006. Intrigued by the challenge of telling fantastic fully-improvised stories together as an ensemble, PGraph spent years developing original formats and studying scripted theatre, improv, and storytelling. They've toured the country and the world performing and teaching their unique brand of improv with ensemble appearances in over 65 cities in the US, Canada, Australia, Europe, and the UK. Renowned for their theatricality, playfulness, and hive-mind-like ensemble, their goal with every show is to push themselves and the art of improvisation to new and dizzying heights while taking the audience along for a joyous ride.
