Acceptable use policy

Last updated 11th November 2021

Introduction

The Ticket Tailor Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is a living document which exists to make it clear what events, behaviour and usage are not permitted on our Service. We review this document regularly, and will update it as necessary. This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Ticket Tailor Terms of Use.

We believe in events as a positive force for good; to entertain, to educate and to bring communities together. We built our platform with the goal of making it as simple as possible for event organisers to sell tickets online. We are a self-service platform, and when you sign up to use our Services for your ticketing, you agree to our Website terms of use and to abide by this AUP.

Given our self-service set up, it is not possible for us to know each of our users individually and the nature of their events. We do our best to take a proactive approach with moderation, but there is always a risk that events listed on our platform may be against our Terms of Use, this AUP, or our company values. This document should be used by event organisers to check that their event is permitted on our platform.

Non acceptable usage of Ticket Tailor

If your event listing, or the purpose of the event itself features content relating to, or is intended to promote any of the following, you must cease to use our platform for ticketing. If you do not, and we discover the listing through our event review moderation process or it is brought to our attention by a third party, we reserve the right to deactivate your account and remove your listing.

You must not:

  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself contains hateful or discriminatory speech. We define this as any content that promotes, condones or incites expression of opinion based upon personal characteristics of particular individuals or groups. These characteristics may include, but are not limited to: race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion and age

  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself exists for, or promotes, fraudulent activities. This includes, but is not limited to, unproven money-making schemes, deceptive marketing practices, phishing and any other attempts to extort or steal from others.
  • Post an event where the listing or the content of the event itself is for the purpose of spamming or sending unsolicited content to individuals.
  • Post an event that you are not organising or officially authorised to sell tickets for, or where the advertised venue hasn’t been contractually reserved.

Enforcement of the AUP

We conduct regular reviews of events on our platform and moderate content accordingly as per our terms and the details of this AUP.

We also have a Report an event form for anyone to contact us about an event that may be in breach of our Website terms of use or the AUP. We review every report we receive and will assess the best route of action using our Terms and this AUP as guidance.

If we believe your event violates our Website terms of use or AUP, we reserve the right to remove your event from the platform and deactivate your account with Ticket Tailor. We will contact you to let you know of any course of action in relation to your event or account being removed. Please note that our fees are non-refundable – if you have sold tickets for an event that breaches our AUP you will not be eligible for a refund.
