We thought we’d open the doors over here at Ticket Tailor HQ and put on an exhibition of some of the coolest website integrations we’ve created.

It’s always nice to try before you buy – this is our way of giving you a little taste of what we do and where we do it.

Below are some great examples of box offices which have been integrated into the client’s website, creating a seamless and slick experience for the end consumer.

Showcase: How Machynlleth Comedy Festival Sell Tickets Online

Type of Events

Why, comedy, of course! The Machynlleth Comedy Festival includes performances from some of the finest comedic talent in Britain.  For the third year running, the Machynlleth Comedy Festival, held in Wales, has built up a fantastic reputation. How Scare Nation sell tickets online

Scare Nation is a new  scare attraction in the UK tipped as ‘a truly terrifying experience brought to life by some of the top scare performers in the industry’.

Scare Nation sell tickets in advance for their attraction and approached Ticket Tailor to see if we could help.  They have tickets for multiple days, times and have different prices for adults and children.  They also had a great looking website and they wanted a consistent design on their ticket pages.

With all the dates, times and ticket types this could quickly become an unwieldy list of tickets so we broke it down in to steps by date and then time giving their customers a nice simple checkout flow.  After selecting a date and time customers can then choose how many adult and child tickets they want for that slot.

Ticket Tailor allows you duplicate event listings in just a few clicks.  This made loading up all the various dates very straight forward.

We then skinned the ticket pages so it matched their website seamlessly.

“Everyone is really impressed.  For a company that have never sold tickets on-line before, we have found everything really easy to set up.”
Director, Scarenation Ltd.

Very easy to set up, and we picked it becasue of the lack of per ticket costs. (and also because it’s London based).

Interview with Scratch + Sniff

Tell us about your events

Scratch+Sniff are olfactory adventures for people curious about the sense of smell.

Each month we take a different creative theme, from Scent and Cinema, Perfume and Music and even Fragrance and Mythology, and through presentations, discussions, games and lots of smelling, have lots of fun with our sense of smell.

The events are a bit like wine tastings but for perfume and in fact everyone usually has a glass of wine to hand amongst all the sample scent bottles (which you get to take home with you). I started them because I think fragrance can be as interesting as any other art form, but couldn’t find any events that were really focussed on olfaction. So I  did it myself!

What are your most effective event marketing methods?

Press and getting on the listings pages is very important for Scratch+Sniff, as is email marketing. Once you’ve built up a list of people interested in the topic already, the occasional (but not too frequent) mailing is very effective. But not if you’re just selling a ticket, I always try to include some interesting bits and bobs about other interesting things happening around scent and perfume. Twitter is also great because its a great space to hear about quirkier, niche events.

Funnily enough, I promote through facebook much less but I’m not sure if that’s because it’s less useful, or if I’m just rubbish at using it!

But to be honest, Word of Mouth is best. If you offer someone an unusual and memorable night out, they WILL tell their friends and colleagues about it the next day. To me, the more people who stumble down the rabbit hole of olfaction and then fall in love with it, the better.

How were you selling tickets before using Ticket Tailor?

I was using a different online ticketing agent.

How has Ticket Tailor helped you sell tickets for your events?

I think Ticket Tailor makes the whole process of selling tickets much more straightforward. Because ticket tailor is a flat monthly subscription, I can plan each month and control my ticket prices much better without having to include more % for commission.

Also it’s so quick to set up an event. I used to dread having to go through the rigmarole of setting up the page each month, but these days it’s done in about a minute!

Interview with film festival: Anonymous

Conceived by Anonymous as a film festival dedicated solely to design, A Design Film Festival launched in Singapore and has travelled to Berlin, Taipei, Kaohsiung and Bangkok.

In 2011, the festival returns with a brand new line-up, expanded programme and new collaborations.

What are your most effective event marketing methods?

Our newsletter has proved to be the most effective channel for updating our subscribers on new events. I think social media is great and has big potential in engaging your audience, but nothing beats a well-crafted email newsletter.

How were you selling tickets before using Ticket Tailor?

Eventbrite and Stage HQ

How has Ticket Tailor helped you sell tickets for your events?

Booking fees are like paying for tap water in a restaurant – it never made sense. Ticket Tailor’s innovative model has helped make our events more affordable to our customers.

Interview with Cardiff promoter: SWN

SWN promote concerts, mostly in Cardiff, and organise the 4-day annual SWN Festival with BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens.

What are your most effective event marketing methods?

Use everything possible – social media is fast and furious and great for creating a surge, but traditional media – press, radio, tv – reaches way more people. Posters and flyers are still essential too. We pride ourselves on a great aesthetic and a broad reach.

Why bother?

Because it’s rewarding bringing bands we love into the city we live in, and amazing when people come and discover great new music.

How were you selling tickets before using Ticket Tailor?

Through third party sites. We still do, but we use Ticket Tailor too, bolted on to our website.

How has Ticket Tailor helped you sell tickets for your events?

It’s made it handy for us to have all our shows on sale in one place, and link the graphic for the show directly to the ticket. It’s been a great addition to what we do.

How Fieldview Festival sell tickets online

Fieldview is a small and independent festival based around the principle that things are always better done yourself.  The Festival is DIY, not for profit, based around good people, good music, environmental preservation and awareness.  It’s no wonder they wanted to do their ticketing themselves and they called on Ticket Tailor to help.

Fieldview festival ticket selling systemFieldview festival needed a system to sell festival tickets, coach tickets from various locations and t-shirts.  When people purchase t-shirts, they wanted them to be able to select colour and size variations.  Fieldview festival had problems with this in previous years and were keen to get a system that worked well.  We customised the ticket selling process for them so that when anyone purchases a t-shirt it would ask them to select a size and colour which is then stored against their order.

In addition Fieldview festival wanted a slick white label experience to match their website which was no problem for Ticket Tailor.

On going live they took a records number of sales on the first day.

Here’s what they had to say about their experience with Ticket Tailor:

Ticket Tailor were happy to help us keep it simple for us and our customers. Everything was delivered ahead of schedule and exactly how we wanted in to look and work. The unique Ticket Tailor system allows us and our customers to save money. Everyone wins!
Dan Cameron, Festival Director

Ticket Tailor is a flexible ticket platform that lends itself well to all kinds of events.  If you need help with selling tickets on-line be sure to give us a call (especially if you want to save money on booking fees!!).

How Soundcrash sell tickets online

Soundcrash put on a range of live shows and club nights specialising in Hip Hop, Electronic and Dance music from around the world.  Some of their upcoming shows include DJ Yoda, Bonobo, and Tinariwen to name a few, and you may see their events at venues like Xoyo, Koko, and Jazz Cafe.  They also organise the Soundwave festival in Croatia.

Soundcrash have a big reputation and therefore sell a lot of tickets through their website.  The website is clear, easy-to-use and focused on events making it ideal for them to sell tickets.  They use a wide range of ticket agencies to help them sell tickets including See Tickets, We Got Tickets and Ticket Web and they have now introduced Ticket Tailor as an option to allow their customers to order via PayPal.  This is ideal as they get the benefits of working with ticket agencies, but can avoid the booking fees when people book direct through them.

The ticket buying process is white-labelled to fit with the Soundcrash website providing a slick streamlined experience for their customers.

“So far using Ticket Tailor has been an good experience for Soundcrash, enabling us to re-coup the majority of our booking fees whilst not having to re-engineer the back end of our site to do this directly. My staff have found TT managers very helpful, with an open mind to new ways of promoting and selling tickets”

Rob Waller, Soundcrash
