Trail Outlaws are delighted to be able to join forces with RAF Spadeadam and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund(RAFBF) to give you an out of this world opportunity to take part in a trail half marathon at the historic RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria. Come and take part in this not to be missed event, run around the historic base that was part of the UK's missile project during the cold war.
The Half Marathon course offers stunning views along its length, winding its way around and through Spadeadam Forest with views over to the Lake District and Sycamore Gap on Hadrians Wall. With numerous RAF practise targets and tanks along the route, it is a run that offers a unique opportunity.
For 2022 there will also be a new RAF Spadeadam Bergen Challenge. Where you will need to carry a 35lb bergen around a 10 mile challenge route around the RAF Spadeadam base.
The RAF Benevolent Fund - Since our foundation in 1919, the RAF Benevolent Fund has been there, through thick and thin, supporting the RAF Family. We are an independent charity and receive no government funding. We provide a spectrum of services that range from our Airplay programme supporting children growing up on RAF stations, to relationship counselling for RAF couple and respite breaks for RAF families and veterans. If your entry includes optional cancellation cover, you will be able to claim a refund of the entry fee, minus cover charge up to 24 hours before event. No refunds will be offered if you do not take the cover. You are able to transfer your place to another runner in the same event, up to 3 weeks before the event.
Entry now includes a hot drink and sandwich. £5.00 of each entry gets donated to the RAF Benevolent Fund.
