National Diversity Practitioners Institute – Sandy Spring Friends School

This in-person institute will be an intensive, interactive, 3-day institute designed specifically for those who want to sharpen their skills and deepen their practice around creating equitable, just, and inclusive school communities that foster a sense of belonging.  Our conference days will run 9am-9pm EST on June 27, June 28, and June 29.  Participants are expected at all sessions. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in the registration fee.

Intended for those with responsibilities for aiding the equity and justice initiatives in their schools, the 3-day program will provide a framework for engaging in best practices, will give members an opportunity to plan their diversity efforts at their school with support from institute faculty throughout the year with a formal mentoring and support program, and will promote networking and resource sharing among members.

​This conference is not meant solely for diversity directors. NDPI is for anyone with responsibilities for aiding the building and sustaining of an equitable, inclusive, and just school community. Last year, we had among our group diversity directors, deans, admissions directors, teachers, curriculum coordinators, division heads, assistant heads of school, and heads of school.

In the case of cancellation, registration is refundable at 50% before April 15, 2022. After April 15, registration is non-refundable but it is transferable to another individual, or the registration can be deferred to the 2023 institute.

BWI is the closest airport to Sandy Spring Friends School.  Our official conference hotel is the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center. NDPI participants who book by May 26, 2022 will receive a single occupancy room at the discount rate of $169 per night. Register for your hotel room here.
