The Asylum Steampunk Festival returns to the historic quarter of Lincoln from Friday 26 - Monday 29 August.
To celebrate our return to Lincoln after the pandemic we are returning to the Historic Quarter and the roots of The Asylum. The pandemic has forced many changes upon the world so please do not assume anything about this event especially where to collect wristbands etc (see your ticket confirmation). We are confident that this year will be a truly memorable event however and a celebration of steampunk at its finest.
This year we have secured one half of the Castle grounds exclusively for Wristband holders. This includes the ground floor of the Victorian prison, the Heritage Skills Centre and two large marquees on the South Lawn plus outdoor spaces with more features. This is in addition to our new Bandstand Stage and traders and exhibits in the upper ward which will be accessible by your wristband or for members of the public purchasing castle admission tickets. With further features around the Lawn (our original home) and the Bailgate/Cathedral Quarter this year everything is centralised meaning we can gather and enjoy steampunk all in one area.
For the evenings we have a fantastic lineup and are delighted to have the steampunk legends Abney Park joining us with day features as well as a fantastic show at the Engine Shed on Sunday night.
Our Ball will also be held at the Engine Shed with a fully seated gala event including quality dining and entertainment. This is truly a dress to impress opportunity for us to celebrate steampunk and our renewal after the pandemic.
Sadly the current rise in prices has been passed on to us across venues and suppliers etc but we have still kept our price rises to a minimum. We are still much cheaper than comparable festivals and conventions such as MCM, Eastercon etc. Your wristband not only give you access to all the Festival venues and any scheduled wristband performances, workshops, talks, exhibitions and content, but also supports the event continuing to happen in the City. You are part of the worlds largest and longest running steampunk festival. Your contribution helps to make it happen. Thank you.
Due to capacity issues evening events are only available to wristband holders. If you only have a wristband for a single day you can purchase a ticket for an evening event on the same evening or the evening prior to your wristbands validity. e.g. you could buy a ticket for the Thursday Advanced Pirates Party if you have a weekend wristband or a Friday wristband. For Friday events you need a weekend wristband or a Friday wristband or a Saturday wristband.
