The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is one of the most well-known and respected providers of official wine qualifications throughout the world.
As an approved programme provider, The Vintner will be running WSET Level 1 and 2 Award in Wines courses from right here in our Parsons Green tasting room. Both are excellent entry level qualifications that will arm you with foundational wine knowledge that is practical, versatile, and transferrable across a wide range of industries.
This is a perfect opportunity for students to learn about wine in a positive, fun, and professional environment.
In the words of our resident WSET educator, James Franklin:
“The thing I love about wine is that there is always something new to learn, a new style and new grape or a forgotten gem emerging for everyone to enjoy. That’s why wine education is key in this industry. Knowing even just a little bit about wine gives you a greater understanding and appreciation for wine as a whole and gives you the confidence when faced with queries from customers.”
James has taught everyone from concierges to chefs, cabin crew to private events organisers, and PA’s to business development managers, many of whom have gone on to further their studies in wine. In today’s industry, personal and professional development is key to standing out from the crowd — and a WSET wine qualification will help you do just that.
Of course, you don’t have to be in any wine or wine-adjacent industry to participate; the WSET Level 1 and Level 2 are suitable for anyone and everyone who loves wine and simply wants to learn more about this marvellous drink!
The WSET Level 1 Award in Wine

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines
