CAMP CREATE IS THE ULTIMATE PORTRAIT WORKSHOP, HELD AT A CAMP ON THE STUNNING SOUTH SHORES OF PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND, CANADA. HOSTED BY DAVE BROSHA AND WAYNE SIMPSON, YOUR TEACHING PLAYGROUND WILL INCLUDE FORESTS, FIELDS, AND AN INCREDIBLE BEACHFRONT VENUE.
Camp Create is Canada's premiere, immersive 4-day portrait workshop experience.
CAMP CREATE is an immersive photography camp experience. Over the course of our time together you will experience five different “focused workshops”, each with a different experienced mentor.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Small groups, different genres. Natural light. Lighting. Free-lensing. Couples. Families. Individuals. Inside. Outside. Environmental portraiture. Moody, emotional portraiture. Learning the essentials of light…from understanding natural light to multi-light setups. Character portraits and portraits born out of creativity.
During CAMP CREATE, you will learn from five different experienced portrait mentors…some of the best in their respective genres in Canada. Hands-on workshops followed by your own shooting time. But, also, you will partake in editing sessions where you'll learn the mentor’s end-to-end processes.
WHAT IS THE LOCATION AND VENUE LIKE?
We looked across Canada for the right venue. We wanted a place that could offer an immersive experience where people could stay on-site for the duration.
Accommodations. Food. Campfires. And creativity.
Turns out, this location was right in (my) backyard on beautiful Prince Edward Island.
We found a camp. A literal summer camp. And we've got it rented for four days.
Acres upon acres of creative backdrops. Forest. Lanes. Fields. Incredible indoor spaces. And the best part? It's located right on the Atlantic Ocean. A pristine oceanfront playground with some of the most stunning coastline and dramatic low tides of Prince Edward Island's south shore.
That's right. The camp is right on the ocean...and it's all ours.
Each evening, when we're finished shooting, learning, and creating…we'll get the bonfire going and enjoy a few adult beverages (if that's your thing).
This event will take place September 12-15, 2024. A time when the Island is less busy but a time when the Island is still generally experiencing beautiful pre-fall weather.
DO I NEED TO STAY ON SITE OR CAN I STAY ELSEWHERE?
For the most immersive experience, you can choose to stay on-site. A number of shared cabins are available, and we've got a caterer to provide meals throughout the event. You don't have to rent hotels, cottages, or cabins. You don't have to worry about driving once you get here. You just have to worry about learning, and creating.
But, we also realize many people like to turn a trip to PEI into a family vacation, travel with their non-photography partners, or you may want something a little more comfortable (the cabins are pretty basic/rustic…we want to be upfront about that). So you can stay offsite, as well.

WHAT ARE THE PRICING PLANS?
We're going to have two different pricing plans. One pricing plan for staying on-site in a shared cabin (we will pair you up with friends you’re traveling with or someone of the same sex), and one pricing plan for "still coming to the entire event but doing your own thing."
On-site pricing, all your food + accommodation is covered. Offsite, your lunch is still included and you attend all sessions but you’re on your own for breakfast + dinner, and you’re responsible for your own accommodation and transportation.
