A conference for early childhood development (ECD) practitioners, theorists, public and civic sector representatives, policymakers, educational and health institutions, philanthropic organisations - anyone dedicated to positively impacting the lives of young children. Join us in spearheading - and celebrating collaboration and innovation in the field!

One day of keynotes, panels, workshops, and accompanying events bringing the state of the art of ECD from - and to Central Europe. An opportunity to explore innovative practices, build relationships, foster dialogue across sectors, and encourage collective efforts towards systemic change in the field.

About

Studies show that high-quality ECD programs belong to interventions with the highest documented returns for all. Early childhood experiences have far-reaching effects on various societal dimensions such as inequality, populism and thus democracy. Despite this, there is not enough focus on the topic in Central Europe.

Places to Grow aims to create better systems of ECD services through intersectoral thinking and collaboration in Czechia, Hungary, and Slovakia. A catalyst for excellence, it pushes for a vision of an equitable and discrimination-free ECD future by centring collaborative efforts among various actors, including public and civic sectors. Through initiatives like the Joint Action Fund, we support projects that demonstrate the power of cooperation in enhancing ECD outcomes, aiming to build a strong foundation for children's future growth and learning.

The conference is a collaborative effort led by Holis in close partnership with Porticus and the Places to Grow program partners. Our united goal is to foster a thriving ECD ecosystem that empowers every child to realise their full potential.
