Starting at Horton in Ribblesdale, this incredible walk takes you on a superb circular hike of the beautiful Yorkshire hills, walking approximately 25 miles in length, with an elevation gain of over 1,600m and reaching the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. It's one of the true walking classics in in the stunning Yorkshire countryside and an incredible and exhilarating experience.

Although the Yorkshire 3 Peaks is regarded as a challenging walk, you do not need to be 'super fit', just a good base of fitness level. You will be led on the trail by experienced mountain guides provided by our partner Dolomite Training and there will be two breaks built into the walk where our support vehicle will be on hand. Our pre - event information pack has training support and guidance to help you get train for this fabulous walk.

It is only possible to buy one ticket at a time. So if you're signing up as a team, each person will need to purchase their ticket separately.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age for taking part is 16 years old on the date of the challenge. If you will be under 18 on the day of the event please contact us before signing up. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult

How fit do I need to be?

Dolomite Training advice is that you need to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to take part. It is suggested that you slowly build up your fitness levels in the lead up to your challenge and a pre event training pack is included to support your pre event training. As a condition of participation Dolomite training require that all participants complete a basic medic questionnaire prior to the event.

Who organises the challenge?

The trek is operated by Dolomite Training ( Home - Dolomite Training outdoor activity course provider) The guides with us on the trek all have Summer Mountain Leaders or Mountaineering & Climbing Instructors with First Aid Qualifications.

What will the hike be like?

Dolomite Training advise that this one of the toughest hill challenges with over 1600m ascent and nearly 40km .The pre- event information pack has training tips and advise on how to train for this fabulous walk.

The paths are generally well maintained and vary from steps, steep inclines or gradual slopes to more rocky ground. In wet weather it can be slippery in places, and in some areas, it can be easy to lose the path.

There will be other TeamELLA walkers taking part with groups at different paces and the main group will naturally split into groups of a similar pace. Dolomite Training Mountain leaders will stay with a group so that everyone maintains contact with one of Dolomites staff. There will be 2 short breaks built in, with support vehicle, one at Ribblehead and one close to Hill Inn.

Can I bring my dog?

Please note that no dogs are allowed to walk with you other than registered assistance dogs

What do I need to bring?

You will be provided with a full kit list and other information about taking part in the event after you have signed up.

The weather can be very changeable, so it is best to prepare for all eventualities. It may be warm at the bottom, cold at the top and rain in between. So you will enjoy the trekking more if your equipment keeps you warm and comfortable with walking boots or sturdy walking shoes.

Why is the registration fee non-refundable?

The registration fee forms part of the total challenge cost and is used by Dolomite Training to process your registration, vet your medical form and also to secure suppliers linked with your challenge. It is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another participant under any circumstance. We strongly suggest you obtain travel insurance immediately after registration, to cover this cost element of your challenge.

When do I have to pay in my sponsorship? We ask you to raise a minimum of £100 and to pay this to the Ella Dawson Foundation directly or via JustGiving or another fundraising site before the start of the challenge.
