Come along to an engaging, hands-on workshop led by Caitlin McKinnon, a PhD Candidate at Queen Margaret University and the University of Stirling. This event is part of a research project exploring the evolution of training and practice of “arts management” in Scotland.
Through the creation of zines (a homemade publication that can include poetry, narratives, drawings, and more), we'll dive into the challenges and opportunities facing arts and cultural workers today, from professional development to navigating sector pressures.
Workshop Details

Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: Eden Court, Inverness
If you are involved in the management, administration or production of arts and cultural projects or organisations, this workshop is for you!
This workshop is designed specifically for those working behind the scenes to support and manage creative endeavours in Scotland. Though the term “arts managers” is sometimes used as a catch-all for this line of work, this event is not exclusive to those with that specific title. Caitlin is keen to hear about your experience and learning as an individual working to support or develop arts and cultural projects or organisations. Whether you have attended formal academic training, professional development courses, learned on the job, or have a mix of all three, your perspective is welcomed and appreciated.
Why Attend?
This workshop offers a unique opportunity to contribute your voice to the future of arts management education, training and support in Scotland. You'll engage in a creative, collaborative activity that not only informs academic research, but also provides a platform for professional reflection and community building.

There are 8 funded places (£150 each) to support individuals who may need financial assistance to attend. If you'd like to be considered for one of these spots, please fill out the Funded Attendance Form.
