We are delighted to announce that our world famous Dixie Queen paddle steamer Thames cruise at The London int’l Ska Festival 2025 is set to star…
The ultimate presentation to one of reggae most loved albums and artists…
1000 Volts of Holt by the one and only John Holt!
on Good Friday 18th April 2025 (1-5pm)
John Holt’s 1973 1000 Volt of Holt is of course a bonafide classic reggae album, that included sensational versions of; Mr Bojangles, Girl From Ipanema, Killing Me Softly, I’d Love You To Want Me, You Baby, Stoned out of Love, Morning of My Life, the Top 10 smash - Help Me Make It Through The Night, and more! It was an album so loved that it seemed every household owned a copy!
In addition to presenting this classic album we will also be delving deeper into John Holt's (and The Paragons) glorious catalogue of hits with tunes such as; Stick By Me, The Tide Is High, Ali Baba, Police In A Helicopter, Man Next Door, A Love I Can Feel, Tonight and more!
Some of you may remember we put together a similar show as part of the 2017 London Int’l Ska Festival at The Jazz Cafe, with Brinsley Forde, Carroll Thompson, Christopher Ellis & Jewels (Pama Int’l). It was a fantastic night. The love for the album and John Holt has grown even more since then and we’re delighted to now be hosting the show on the truly unique and gorgeous Dixie Queen paddle steamer Thames cruise, with all-star / world famous singers, band & DJs to be announced!
The cruise is one of the highlights of the festival every year and always sells out. 2025 (our 37th anniversary) will no doubt prove to be no exception.
