It’s very early this year, but let’s get the Christmas cheer underway! Back by popular request, we have string quartet music fit to beat the winter blues. We’ll be playing arrangements of Christmas favourites such as Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, Vivaldi’s Winter and no doubt the odd carol or two. Join us for an hour of festive fun!
Violins - Tom and Ellie Norris, back once again all the way from Sydenham, Tom and Ellie run EnSEmble26, a local music initiative in the area. Tom is co-principal 2nd violin in the London Symphony Orchestra and Ellie is one of London’s most successful freelancers.
Viola - Malcolm Johnston, from Beckenham, is sub-principal viola in the LSO and a teacher at Trinity Laban music college. He is also a talented arranger and I’m guessing a few of his pieces may make their way into this concert. Malcie has also been known to misbehave during concerts, with his latest outburst on the maracas in an otherwise civilised piece of Boccherini being a fine example. We’ll see if we can get him to behave in this show…
Cello - Rebecca Gilliver - founder of Worlds End Music and principal cellist of the LSO, Rebecca is also a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Rebecca lives in Green Street Green with husband and 2 hairy hounds.
