Writing Like a Mother Portland: A Mini-Retreat

Join Scribente Maternum and other writer-moms for an entire day to write. We will spend some time connecting as we introduce ourselves and then we will spend the day writing. This is an entire day where you don't have to think about where your food or coffee is coming from and you can just sit and write.

If you aren't at a place where you're working on a project and might need some inspiration, we can place you in a small group of others in the same position and provide prompts and ideas to get the flow of ideas going.

We have three free spots for writers of color. If you'd like to take advantage of that, please complete THIS FORM by February 10th, 2025!

Scribente Maternum Seattle Mini-Retreat April 2024

About the Space

We will be meeting at VIDA Coworking, which was founded as a space to create a joyful community for its community members and to help meet their needs, including welcoming children in the space. While not all members are women, the space was made to support women and mothers. We are exceptionally grateful to VIDA for donating their space and serving as a sponsor, as it allows us to offer this event at a low cost.

A Note About Pricing

In an effort to make our events as accessible as possible, Scribente Maternum offers a tiered pricing model. While this session is valued at the Partner level, any amount is accepted and any additional support is appreciated. Thank you!

Want to Make this an Overnight Retreat?

Whether you're coming from out of town or you just want a night or two away from the fam to make the most of this retreat, we recommend staying at KEX Hotel. KEX is a less than 20-minute walk from VIDA Coworking (or a 4-minute car ride). We will be eating dinner at KEX after the retreat, and it's a low-cost and cozy getaway location with rooms starting at $120/night for a single-bed room and $135/night for a double queen.
