The Girls in Business Camp Jacksonville 2021 introduces girls ages 12 to 16 to basic business principles including the forms and types of businesses, business strategy, marketing and finance. Each student will be guided through creating her own business and completing the activities below.
After students create their businesses, each student CEO will pitch a group of mock investors (fellow students) for the funding to launch her start-up. Participating Girl Scouts can earn a business owner, business plan badge or the new one of the new entrepreneur badges.
The class is limited to 20 students. Students will be required to wear a face cover and seated in a class configuration that allows social distancing. Each Students will be served two pre-packed individual snacks but will need to bring lunch. The class runs from 8am to 2pmET. Is the registration fee refundable? The registration fee is non-refundable unless the GIB cancels a class. If a participant is unable to attend a class a credit will be placed on file with GIB that may be used at any time for a future class. The credit may be used one-time class transfer and the credit does not expire.
What is the dress code? Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing. Each participant will receive a GIB logo t-shirt that may be worn during the session. We carry sizes youth medium through adult medium.
Do parents attend? The sessions are drop-off sessions.
