Clarity - it's available to all of us
What would it be like if you could get back in touch with a clear head and clarity? Would you like to laugh more often and enjoy being with your family and friends?
If you feel like you are running at 100 miles an hour but getting nowhere then this event is for you. It will open your eyes to the traps of stress and show how overwhelm is generated.
We, Liz Scott and Stuart Newberry, the founders of Coaching Connect will host the day. We will help you answer these questions:
What is stress?
Stress is a perfectly normal emotional response and we all feel it from time to time. However, it can feel overwhelming and upsetting if it runs unchecked through our lives.
The impact of stress can be debilitating, people can feel physically ill and take time off work because of stress.
Conventional approaches advocate managing situations, or trying to suppress and change stressful thoughts. Whilst these can offer temporary relief we find strategies and tools can be tiring and time consuming. It's much more helpful to understand and realise how stress is created in the first place.
During this day we will explain the 'inside-out' nature of life. Another way of describing the 'inside-out' philosophy is 'self-understanding'. This is a new psychological approach that shines a light on your true source of inner wellbeing and strength. It is based on the Three Principles and is gaining traction in the world of psychology.
What is the impact of self-understanding?
Over the past 4 years I (Liz Scott) have been on a journey of discovery. I came across the principles behind self-understanding and it has changed my personal and professional life. Here's what I notice about the differences:
"There was a time when my head was filled up with 'stuff'. I would analyse and worry over everything and anything. On the outside I seemed to glide like a swan, but internally I was often churning with self-doubt and insecurity. I thought my purpose in life was to stay in a constant state of happiness, everyone else seemed happy. My failure at being happy all the time turned into something else to beat myself up with.
Things changed when I came across the principles and began to see two things clearly. Firstly I got an inkling of who I truly am, my deep, inner, spiritual self. Secondly I began to see how my stress was caused (quite innocently) by my furious, busy thinking. I would wrap myself in knots with all the thinking.
Since coming across the principles behind 'self-understanding' I am enjoying life so much more. I don't get so serious about it. My head is clear and I feel peaceful more often. I still have my lows, but I don't worry or analyse them so much, which means I don't get so anxious. I feel more free, self-expressed and connected with myself, my family and friends.
When I work with clients I trust my intuition and listen to my wisdom. I'm able to point to the resilience and strength in others, it makes such a big difference"
I want to share this understanding of the principles with other people which is why we're organising this event in Cornwall.
What is this psychological approach?
We (Liz and Stu) have spent the past 10 years exploring different approaches and theories. We came across the principles behind self-understanding a few years ago. Our approach is based on something known as the Three Principles (the 3Ps) and we find it a very supportive approach, the 3Ps simplifies life in an elegant way.If you would like a free introduction to the 3Ps then you can download it here OR if you'd like a 28 day audio series (free) to discover more about this approach you can sign up for it here
We are delighted to offer this day as a special introductory rate in Cornwall, which is half our usual rate for a Coaching Connect day. We want to encourage people to 'try Coaching Connect out' and to make the price accessible. Please note that the event is being held in a school. There will be parking on the roads around the school. Lunch is NOT included in the price, so please bring food - or you could try the pub in the village (it might be worth booking).
There are self-service facilities for tea and coffee.
The venue is wheelchair friendly. Please let us know if you need any support in accessing the venue.
