For the first time, an edition of RTÉ Radio's Sunday Miscellany will be recorded as part of the Strokestown Poetry Festival. For nearly 50 years, Sunday morning on RTÉ Radio 1 has meant Sunday Miscellany: a mix of essays and the occasional poem by new and well known writers, each piece read by the author and woven together with an eclectic choice of music.
This special recording of Sunday Miscellany at Strokestown Poetry Festival will feature writers Paddy Bushe, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, Noelle Lynskey and James Harpur and music from Patsy Hanley, John Carty, members of the Sligo Baroque Orchestra, and the Cassiopeia Wind Quintet.
Venue: Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon
Date/time: 12 noon, Monday 1 May.
Please arrive by 11.50am; latecomers can't be admitted once the recording has begun.
The programme will be recorded "as live" for a future Sunday morning broadcast on RTÉ Radio One.
