The Writers Room
We all have stories. For those of us who might want to share them it can sometimes be tough to get started. Where will inspiration come from? How can I find time? Where can I find the confidence in my idea?
The Writers Room is a two and a half hour writing group; a safe, positive and nurturing space to help you create and craft your story submission for Metaphors Be With You.
Facilitator will be present during the session, using creative exercises and writing prompts to help you unlock your story.
There will also be time to share (or not - it's up to you) to develop your ideas with a group of non-judgemental, friendly and likeminded peers.
This session will be facilitated by: Aimee Louise Lewis
About Aimee Louise Lewis
Aimee is a creative storyteller.
By day, Aimee is fortunate enough to be employed for her ideas and copywriting skills as the Creative Leader of the Asia Pacific Innovation Team at Diageo. Previously, she worked at Design Bridge as their Creative Strategist. In both roles she has facilitated many workshops to develop brand stories, and to inspire others to think creatively.
Outside of work, Aimee is writing her first novel between penning short stories, poetry, and plays to perform. Previously a shy writer, Aimee has spent the last 18 months on a journey to build the confidence to share more of her work, and has read several times at MBWY, Destination Ink, and Poetry Slam.
In 2008, Aimee co-founded Inn Words, a London based writing group which was started with some wonderful writers she met whilst taking night classes in Creative Writing at Central Saint Martins. The group still meets every month and Aimee drops in in person or via Skype every once in a while.
