Kirsty Young is one of the country's top broadcasters, notable for being host of BBC Radio 4's Desert Island discs, launch presenter of Channel 5 News, and former presenter of BBC 1's Crimewatch.
She has hosted Desert Island Discs since 2006, interviewing a huge variety of notable guests from Aung San Suu Kyi to George Michael and David Beckham.
Kirsty was the face of the ground breaking Channel Five News for ten years from 1997, defining a new style of news presentation. In January 2008, she became host of one of BBC1's flagship programmes, Crimewatch, a role which she held until 2015.
Kirsty has been a regular guest host of BBC2's popular panel show Have I Got News For You. She has also fronted a number of one-off special programmes for the BBC including a programme honouring the work of Sir David Attenborough in his 90th birthday year and a one-hour special about the Queen's Christmas Speech.
