More on DJ Mortasha Kinski

Hailing from Sydney, Mortasha began DJing early 80s music at Sydney’s “retro” club, becoming resident DJ for 2 years. She was a regular at Sydney’s lectric Ballroom and Kontrol clubs, spinning goth, post-punk and new-wave tunes. Mortasha has travelled extensively, also living in Los Angeles and Ireland, before a permanent move to London in 2008. She has played guest sets at various clubs around the world including Reformation, Occulture, Sunday Lullaby, Dark Disco, Reptile, Shadows of the Crypt/Caves and The Dark Eighties in London; Transcendence, Sanctuary and Atomic in Sydney; The New Order in Melbourne; The Wave Club in Tel Aviv, Slaughter Club in Milan, Der Kult in Nürnberg, The Atomic Cat in Paris, The Grand Social in Dublin, and About To Cry and The Red Party in New York. Mortasha has also played sets at goth/post-punk festivals including A Murder of Crows in New York, Return to the Batcave in Wrocław and Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig.

Mortasha brings a classic sense of goth style to dark room, playing a mix of recent and classic goth, post-punk, dark wave, minimal wave, bat cave and cold wave tunes. She loves seeing people dancing and has enjoyed meeting people from our scene virtually and in person around the world.

Mortasha has streamed at least weekly on her Twitch channel for over 6 years, with regular streams being Isolation, Babes of the Eighties, No Name No Genre and Maudlin Midweek. Mortasha is celebrating 30 years of DJing in 2026. The Belfry is her quarterly club night in London.
