We’re excited to host a FREE Music for Media Workshop, with Rob Flynn and Laurie Ross, funded by Arts Council England. Very limited spaces available.
In this workshop Rob and Laurie will guide you through the ins and outs of creating bespoke music, compositions and sound design for film and advertising. They’ll explore the differences between writing for a pitch and composing library music, whilst sharing their personal approaches and experiences working in the industry. You’ll gain valuable insight into where to focus your attention in composition, songwriting and sound design, and learn practical strategies for securing a pitch.
During the workshop, you’ll collaborate as a group on a live music-for-media brief. By the end of the day, you’ll feel more confident navigating the world of sync and ready to take your first (or next) steps into writing and producing music for media.
Through his company, Tamber Studio, Laurie Ross is an experienced composer, having created bespoke music for clients including Adidas, BBC, GAP and Rolls-Royce. Rob Flynn has worked as a record producer with the likes of Phoria, She’s In Parties and Deep Tan.Together, Rob and Laurie have also built an extensive catalogue of library albums that continues to generate revenue.
This workshop is open to 18–30 year olds who identify as neurodivergent (self-diagnosed welcome) and are ready to take the next step in their music career, developing the skills and knowledge needed to build a career in sync and music for media.
