Adult Improv with Lena's Improv Place. 26 July 7pm

Ο Ελληνικός Πολυχώρος, the new centre for community in Downtown Athens is pleased to be opening on the weekend of 25/26 July with an all levels welcome Adult Improv Group taster class on Sunday 26 at 7pm with the wonderful Lena Ivros.

Improv actively practices the "yes, and..." philosophy. Offering profound mental health and social benefits it builds real-life skills by boosting confidence.
It's also a great way to meet people and let go without judgement. It's a safe space to really be yourself.

Enhances Active Listening: The core rule of improv—"Yes, and..."—requires you to genuinely hear your scene partner's ideas, accept them, and build upon them. This translates to better personal relationships and more productive workplace collaborations

Improves Quick Thinking: Practicing unscripted scenarios forces your brain to think on its feet. This significantly helps with navigating unexpected situations, whether it's a sudden change in a project or an unscripted question in a job interview

Builds Resilience and Reduces Fear of Failure: Improv teaches you to "fail happily." By realizing that mistakes aren't the end of the world, you reduce social anxiety, quiet your inner critic, and become more comfortable stepping outside your comfort zone

Promotes Mindfulness: You cannot effectively improvise if you are worrying about the past or over-planning the future. Improv grounds you entirely in the present moment

Fosters Social Connection: Joining an improv class is a highly effective way to make new friends and build a supportive community as an adult

Lena Ivros is a dedicated Belgian-Greek improvisation teacher with experience working with both adults and children in theatre and film. She focuses on creating supportive spaces where participants can develop confidence, creativity and self-expression through shared storytelling and ensemble work.

The classes are in English, Greek and Dutch so it's very easy to come along and fit in! Remember, improv isn't always about the languages that we speak!

This is a taster class for people who love improv and want to get more as well as being for people who are looking to take their first steps. As it's our opening weekend we will also treat you to some refreshments.

After this event we will launch our courses in Improv Theatre that will give participants the opportunity to learn more, develop with Lena so stay tuned for more!
