Yoga with Rozalia Galatou at OEP Athens/Ο Ελληνικός Πολυχώρος

Rozalia is a passionate yoga teacher and sound healing facilitator whose relationship with movement began with dance, giving her an early, embodied sense of presence and the connection between body and mind. That foundation carried her into yoga at a young age, and over time deepened into a 500-hour training in India and certifications in Greece. She holds a degree in Psychology and also teaches kids yoga. She brings sound and vibration into her work through sound healing alongside movement.

Her teaching is rooted in yogic philosophy, yet shaped by a modern awareness of the human experience. With deep respect for the tradition of yoga, she believes in inclusivity and that the practice belongs to everybody, regardless of age, body, or experience. In her classes, Rozalia offers a grounded space where students are invited to slow down, breathe deeply, and explore their inner world  with curiosity and compassion. Rozalia believes in the power of mindful movement to support personal growth, emotional balance, and a deeper sense of belonging, both within ourselves and in the world around us. She values the strength of the collective, recognising community as a vital space for healing, connection, and shared transformation.

Yoga at OEP Athens is a semi-private experience in our comfortable workout space, Shift and Shine here in the centre of Athens.

Hatha Yoga is the foundational umbrella for almost all physical yoga styles practiced today. The word combines "ha" (sun) and "tha" (moon), representing the balancing of opposing energies within your body.

Unlike fast-paced modern variations, Hatha focuses on physical alignment, deliberate breath control, and holding postures statically.

Core Pillars of a Hatha Practice

  • Asanas (Postures): Steady physical poses designed to build muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility.
  • Pranayama (Breath Control): Conscious breathing techniques used to regulate your internal life-force energy.
  • Shatkarmas (Purification): Traditional cleansing practices intended to purify the physical body and energy channels.
  • Meditation (Mindfulness): Short periods of focused quietude to transition the mind from movement to deep stillness.

Key Benefits

  • Nervous System Regulation: Slow, deep breathing patterns directly lower cortisol levels and activate your parasympathetic system.
  • Core and Joint Stability: Sustained posture holds engage deep stabilizing muscles often missed in rapid flows.
  • Mind-Body Awareness: The deliberate pace forces you to notice micro-movements and structural alignment.
  • Universal Accessibility: It serves as an ideal entry point for beginners while remaining challenging for advanced practitioners.
