Description
Join us on the 4th yahrzeit of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks zt'l to explore how we can translate the teachings of R. Sacks into meaningful habits and routines to enrich and uplift our daily lives. We will focus on aspects of R. Sacks' life and teaching that resonate with core ideas in Positive Psychology and behaviour design.
Dr Tamra Wright studied Jewish ethics with R. Sacks at Jews' College in the 1980s. Together with Rabbi Dr Michael Harris and Professor Daniel Rynhold, she edited Radical Responsibility, a collection of essays in his honour. Inspired by his suggestion that a new mussar movement could be created by combining Jewish sources with Positive Psychology, she has published essays on this theme, including "Serve God with Joy (and Self-Actualization): Positive Psychology and the Thought of Rabbi Sacks" in An Ode to Joy (2023).
