Our series of shiurim in memory of Dalia Hillman and Chazan Hillman z'l continues with a shiur given by Rabbi Jeremy Lawrence. Here is a brief taster of what he has to say:
"Being argumentative is in my genes. Machloket has been used to winnow away inferior contentions and discern real truth. Experience teaches that sometimes winning an argument leads to losing the battle. How do we cope when two rights can be wrong and two wrongs may be right?"

Rabbi Jeremy Lawrence is an ordained Orthodox Rabbi who has held senior pulpits in New Zealand, Australia, and England over a 30-year career.
Inspired by Rabbi Sacks, he was a graduate of the Kalms Fellowship and completed Semicha at Yeshivath Kneseth Beth Eliezer under Rabbi YM Poupko. He has worked extensively in kashrut and conversion with the Sydney Beth Din and regularly represented the Jewish community to government in New Zealand and Australia – particularly over shechita.
His work with congregations, schools, communal organisations, and government has given him a good grounding in facilitating difficult conversations with tough customers! He is particularly committed to inter-faith dialogue as a crucible for building understanding and modelling best practice.
Jeremy Lawrence is a registered SEND mediator, and a consultant mediator with Together Trust. He has a private practice in online Civil & Commercial and in Workplace & Employment mediation. He is also working towards accreditation as a Family Mediator.
Jeremy is a regular broadcaster on BBC Radio2 Pause for Thought and a keen amateur wildlife photographer.
