In the era of Covid-19, everyone feels hemmed in, locked down, stuck in place. The holiday of Pesach presents these feelings as part of an ongoing human condition, and addresses our most basic need for physical and emotional emancipation. But the holiday’s definition of freedom is that such autonomy is not a premise for anarchic license, but is granted to us in order to liberate the best parts of ourselves to live an elevated life and pursue a permanent path of meaning. In this session, we will explore how the themes, narratives, and texts of Pesach help foster individual discovery and remind us of the long but rewarding journey towards becoming human.
