Description
"Tomorrow will be a Good Day": Captain Tom 100 Tiny Habits Project
with Dr Tamra Wright
Captain Sir Tom Moore (1921-2021) was an inspirational figure. His relatively small gesture of support for NHS charities -- aiming to raise £1,000 by walking 100 laps of his garden in the run-up to his 100th birthday -- raised nearly £39m within a month, and inspired people in the UK and around the world with his message of hope. The Captain Tom Foundation supports causes that were close to Captain Tom's heart and remain dear to his family, including combating loneliness, championing educational equality, and continued support of the NHS. The foundation also aims to ensure that his message of hope becomes a lasting legacy. To mark what would have been his 101st birthday on April 30th, they have launched the #Captain Tom 100 challenge, inviting everyone to create their own 100 challenge and fundraise for their chosen charity or The Captain Tom Foundation.
My mission: I recently qualified as a Tiny Habits coach, and hope to help 100 people get started with the Tiny Habits approach to behaviour change over the Bank Holiday weekend. I'll be offering Zoom workshops on the Tiny Habits approach and hope to enrol 100 people on the free 5-day online Tiny Habits programme, with me as their coach.
How you can help: Please register here if you would like to participate. It takes only a few minutes over the weekend to learn about Tiny Habits and choose the three quick and easy habits you'd like to work on over the 5-day programme (which starts on Monday 3rd May). Then, each day you need to spend 5 minutes or less doing the habits and respond to a daily email tracking your progress. We will ask 'Did you do your habits today and do you plan to do them tomorrow?' If you did all three habits and plan to do them the next day, your email reply would look exactly like this (no greeting, no other words before the four letters):
yyy
y
It's quick and easy and completely free! You can find out more about the Tiny Habits approach and why I'm so keen on it by reading my blog
Timings: Please note that the dates and times on this event page are indicative only. You can participate without joining any Zoom webinars as the coaching takes place via email. The main thing is to register here by Sunday 2nd May so that you can start practising and tracking your new habits on Monday 3rd May.
I will send out a Doodle to choose the most popular options for the Zoom webinars.
Key dates and timings:
a) Register here for the free Tiny Habits coaching (with me) by Sunday 2nd May (but earlier is better!)
b) Register your Tiny Habits recipes by Sunday 2nd May (you will get an email with all the info about this and a special link)
c) Spend up to 5 minutes per day doing your new habits and replying to the automatic email each day Monday to Friday (3rd to 7th May)
Optional donation: please support Emunah's work with vulnerable children and families in Israel by donating on my Justgiving page
