RECORDING OF Mah Nishtana and a Jewish Philosophy of Questioning with Dr Elliott Malamet

One of the centrepieces of the Seder is the recitation of Mah Nishtana ("The Four Questions"). We will explore the origin of those questions and whether there were always four of them. Are the "four questions" actually answered, or are they just a prompt for Seder discussion? How does the Seder encourage questions of ultimate significance? We will explore a Jewish paradigm of questioning and discuss how it differs from pure philosophical inquiry, through the work of Maimonides and Rabbi Jonathan Sacks.
