'Fintech Friday in the City' (Friday the 25th of September 2026)

Join us at the Crosse Keys in the City from 12.30 pm

Every month of the year we invite City professionals and other individuals to join us.

(Most folks stay for an hour or more, learning while having lunch. Everyone pays their own way.) 

This month our focus will be on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Proposed Transfer Agent Rule Modernization.

According to Grok, 'Transfer agents maintain issuers’ official records of securities ownership, process transfers, cancel/issue certificates (or handle uncertificated securities), and handle related functions such as dividend distributions. They are a core part of the national clearance and settlement system. The existing rules have not been substantively updated since their adoption in the late 1970s and early 1980s, despite major shifts to electronic records, uncertificated securities, faster settlement cycles (now T+1 or faster), and emerging technologies.'
