Another first for us and with thanks to Anthony French and Joey Evans , we are pleased to present an afternoon and evening at Mountsorrel
The plan is to use both steam locos on site, Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST “Colin McAndrew & Co.” And 0-4-0T “Roger" the Wren . It is a compact site in part of the old quarry and we anticipate creating a number of different cameos and runpasts for you all, hopefully utilising some vintage vehicles and a reenactor or two subject to availability!
The railway is now home to the George Stephenson designed former Leicester West Bridge lifting bridge which was at Snibston before its move to Mountsorrel on the closure of the former museum
Note we will operate within the constraints of the heritage centre and not on the branch down to Swithland
