Every band has an origin story. Some start in a garage. Some in a dive bar. Some after a long night involving questionable tacos and even more questionable decisions.

Church.
Yep. Church.

Dirty Aught 6 was born on a worship team—proof that sometimes the path from “How Great Is Our God” to “Turn This Amp to Eleven” is shorter than you think.

It all started when a group of musically gifted, wildly different humans realized two important things:
1. We liked playing music together a lot.
2. We were having way too much fun for this to just be a Sunday thing.

Meet the Usual Suspects

Victoria – Drums
Victoria doesn’t just play the drums—she attacks them with precision, power, and zero fear. She’s an absolute badass behind the kit and somehow manages to keep us all in time while the rest of us are wondering what key we’re in. If the groove is tight, thank Victoria. If it’s loud, also thank Victoria.

Mark – Bass
Mark plays bass, but more importantly, he plays comic relief. Whether it’s facial expressions, perfectly timed jokes, or making the rest of us laugh right before a serious song, Mark keeps things light while holding down the low end like a pro. The groove is solid. The humor? Even stronger.

Jason – Guitar (and Insurance Claims Inspector)
By day, Jason inspects insurance claims. By night, he inspects guitar tones. Calm, collected, and probably assessing the structural integrity of the stage, Jason brings killer guitar work and the quiet confidence of a man who’s seen some things… mostly hail damage, but still.

Jerry – Guitar (and Auto Mechanic)
Jerry fixes cars for a living, which explains why he’s so good at fixing songs on the fly. Need a riff tightened? Solo adjusted? Something rattling? Jerry’s your guy. If our music ever needs a tune-up, we’re covered—no appointment necessary.

Leslie – Vocals
Leslie is the health nut of the group—fueling herself with clean food (and random hot dogs that receive academy acclaimed reviews), good vibes, and vocal cords of steel. She brings powerful vocals, harmonies that hit just right, and balances out the rest of us who think coffee counts as a food group.

Shane – Lead Vocals / Frontman
Shane is a disabled Navy veteran and the resident road warrior. With over 20 years as the lead singer and frontman for touring rock bands, he’s been there, done that, and probably has a merch shirt from it. He brings experience, energy, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting—because therapy comes in many forms, and for him, it’s loud music.

From Worship to Rock Therapy

Somewhere between rehearsals, laughter, and the realization that playing together felt like therapy, we knew we were onto something. Music stopped being just notes and chords—it became stress relief, connection, and a reminder that joy can be loud.

So we formed Dirty Aught 6:
A modern rock cover band that isn’t afraid to throw down originals, crank the amps, and have a damn good time doing it.

We’re not perfect.
We’re not quiet.
And we definitely didn’t plan to start a rock band from a church worship team.

But here we are—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
