Join Dr. Anupama Saigal, MD of AdventHealth Medical Group and Chef Nikk Burton, Executive Chef at The Monroe Restaurant, for an evening dedicated to nourishing healthy families and strengthening family connection.
Enjoy a live culinary demonstration and observe how ingredients are transformed into a three-course tasting menu created around family togetherness and connection. Guests will also receive valuable insights on ways to support their family’s overall health and wellbeing.

About Food as Medicine Classes
Our Food as Medicine class series pairs a local chef with a physician or registered dietitian for a demonstration-style culinary health experience, where the chef prepares a three-course, plant-based menu while the medical expert shares evidence-based insights on how the ingredients support long-term health and disease prevention.
Guests engage with both experts throughout the class and enjoy a tasting of each course: an appetizer, entrée, and dessert

Meet Your Instructors

Meet Dr. Anupama Saigal
Anupama Sharma Saigal, MD is a fellowship trained breast surgical oncologist at AdventHealth Medical Group in Winter Park, Florida. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland and went on to complete her surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania. After becoming a board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Saigal then went on to Columbia University and completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology. Dr. Saigal started her career in New York as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center and at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Awarded 2025 Premier Doctors - General Surgery.

Meet Chef Nikk Burton
Raised in Queens, NY, Chef Nikk Burton has been cooking with a passion since he was in middle school. In 2012 he moved to Orlando to begin a career at Walt Disney World. His tenure there included time at California Grill and as Head Chef at the Boardwalk Resort. As Executive Chef at The Monroe Restaurant, Chef Nikk brings a unique flair for using simple techniques and fresh local ingredients to elevate familiar classics.

Our Monthly Class Series
The Food as Medicine series is our Level 2 experience: A chef and physician or dietitian-led, three-course demonstration exploring the connection between nutrition and health, with tastings of each course.
We also offer:
- Cooking with Confidence (Level 1): a demonstration-style introduction to essential cooking skills and an approachable plant-based recipe with a local chef, home cook, or nutrition specialist.
- Harvest to Table (Level 3): Our premium hands-on class, where guests cook alongside a chef, engage with a physician or dietitian, and enjoy a full farm-to-table culinary experience.
Each series is themed around a monthly culinary or nutrition topic, allowing guests to continue building knowledge and skills over time.
