Nourish the Heart: Supporting Healthy Blood Pressure & Beyond in the Kitchen

Presented by The Culinary Health Institute at 4Roots Farm

Discover how delicious food can be part of caring for your heart.

Join 4Roots Senior Culinary Director Chef Hari Pulapaka and physician Dr. Jenneffer Pulapaka, authors of The Heart Healthy Plant-Based Cookbook, for an immersive, hands-on culinary experience exploring the connection between what we eat, healthy blood pressure, and long-term heart health.

Set at the beautiful 4Roots Farm Campus, you’ll step into the kitchen alongside Chef Hari to prepare a three-course, plant-based meal featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients from 4Roots Farm and partner farms.

As you cook, Dr. Pulapaka and Chef Hari will bring the science and the food together, sharing practical insights into what your blood pressure numbers mean, why high blood pressure can often go unnoticed, and how plant-forward eating and everyday lifestyle choices can help support cardiovascular health.

Then, gather around the table to enjoy the meal you helped create while continuing the conversation with your chef and physician hosts.

Come ready to cook, taste, learn, and leave inspired with practical skills and delicious ideas you can bring into your own kitchen.

Hosted at our beautiful 4Roots Farm Campus, step into the kitchen and enjoy an immersive, hands-on culinary health dining experience where guests cook and enjoy a three-course, plant-based meal focused on creating a higher quality of life through nutrition and lifestyle change.

Dr. Jenneffer Pulapaka: The Pioneer of Podiatric Lifestyle Medicine

Dr. Jenneffer Pulapaka is redefining podiatry by moving beyond the scalpel to champion Podiatric Lifestyle Medicine (PLM). As the founder of the DeLand Foot and Leg Center—the longest-running female surgical podiatry practice in West Volusia—she is transforming healthcare from reactionary "sick care" to proactive prevention. Dr. Pulapaka made history as the first podiatrist to become a Certified Diplomate in Lifestyle Medicine, a credential she pairs with her expertise as a Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP).

Her leadership extends to the Board of Directors for the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care and the APMA Podiatric Population Health Committee. An advocate for the "Quantum Loom" of interconnected health, she is a co-author of The Heart Healthy Plant-Based Cookbook (2024) and holds culinary and nutritional certifications from Harvard and Cornell.

Whether she is summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro or leading "Walk with a Doc" in DeLand, Dr. Pulapaka embodies her mission: shifting the paradigm from symptom management to root-cause prevention.

"Every patient deserves a physician who advocates for their holistic well-being and a sustainable, environmentally conscious healthcare system."
