UNSPUN at Salts Mill

UNSPUN from the Colour Foundry is an audio-visual response to 509 Arts research into Bradford's textile industry. For the past 12 months, 509 Arts has researched stories and memories of Bradford’s mill workers from 1970 onwards - the end of mass textile production in the district - to build a fascinating record of those times, with interviews, radio programmes, photos, maps and texts. We have commissioned the Colour Foundry (Fabric Lenny, Bec Smith and Nick Lewis) to create an immersive experience an audio-visual response to the Lost Mills research using archival footage, found audio, repurposed content and a musical score to create a rich and immersive environment that features acoustic instrumentation, digital looping and spoken word recordings. Twice a day the installation will feature live performance from the Colour Foundry team working with a brass ensemble.
