What Happens in the Workshop?
Our workshops teach children about the importance of kindness, the science of kindness and the impact it has on our mental health and wellbeing. We use case studies, videos and quizzes to keep the children engaged, and our facilitator interacts with the teachers using the chat box.
Workshop Timings
9.30am - 10.15am: First Zoom session - Kindness Presentation
10.15am - 11.15am: Children work on their kindness activity in their classrooms (we will set this activity for them)
11.15am - 11.30am: Second Zoom session - Debrief and conclusion
Resources Needed
Craft materials - At the end of the first session, we will set the children a kind task to complete. This will involve doing something kind for someone. This will be, for example, writing a letter, making a kind card or drawing a picture. So paper, pens and craft materials will be needed for that.
Workshop Outcomes
The workshop helps children to develop empathy and tolerance, and improves self-awareness. By the end of the Kindness Workshop, children will:
– Realise the power of their actions.
– Understand the link between kindness and physical & mental wellbeing.
– Have a basic understanding of the science of kindness.
– Feel empowered to create the kind of world they want to live in.
100% of schools we surveyed said the children benefitted from our Kindness Workshop.
90% of teachers said they felt more confident talking to children about how to deal with unkind people.
87% of teachers said children’s relationships with friends and classmates improved.
93% of teachers said children were more thoughtful of others.
