What Happens in the Assembly?
Greig will share a lively presentation and ask questions along the way. The presentation will cover:
- What World Kindness Day is and why we celebrate it.
- What do we mean by 'kindness'?
- Why kindness is important, including the role it plays in creating strong, supportive communities.
- The science of kindness and the impact it has on our physical and mental health.
- Different ways we can show kindness, with an emphasis on empathy.
- Some age-appropriate examples of people our charity has helped.
- We will touch on this year’s Anti-Bullying Week theme ‘Make a Noise about Bullying.’
- We will set the children a kindness challenge, which they can complete after the assembly (or at a time to suit your school). This activity will be about spreading kindness to other people in their life / school using a printable ‘spreading kindness’ activity sheet that we will provide.
- At the end of the assembly, we will be launching our brand new Kindness Awards and letting you know how your school can get involved.
Resources Needed
We will provide a printable activity sheet to schools for the children to complete in their own time after the workshop.
