Please note - there is now only one tenor/ baritone (part 4) and one bass (part 5) part left available. If you wish to join a short-notice waiting list for any other places that may become available, please email Rachel at sheffieldflute@gmail.com
Martin Lightowler, of 5 From 500 Choral Days, will be joined by Helen Cowen (Abbeydale Singers, Sheffield Singers), Kate Thompson (Hallam Choral Society), and Kate Shipway (Sheffield Chorale, Romulus Singers, Sheffield Music Hub) to help lead the day.
We’ll spend the morning in four pairs of choirs to rehearse Spem, plus each group will work on one other short piece:
Agnus Dei from Imogen Holst's Mass in A minor
Ave Verum Corpus by William Byrd
Abendlied by Josef Rheinberger
Locus Iste by Anton Bruckner
Then we will join together in two choirs in the afternoon before final tutti rehearsals.
For our final run-through/performance, we plan to begin and end with Spem in Alium, with each pair of choirs singing their own piece as the jam in the Spem sandwich.
When you book, we will ask you to tell us about your preferred part to sing in Spem - please check the vocal ranges below - parts are 1 (soprano) down to 5 (bass) - and your order of preference of the other pieces. We will do our best to accommodate these preferences but we cannot guarantee them. If there is a high demand for particular parts, we may need to place you on a waiting list - if this happens we will refund your payment and get in touch if a space becomes available later to book you on.
