Welcome to the 5th World Congress of Psychogeography, the largest conference of psychogeography [in the universe, that we're aware of]!

Over three days (September 18th - 20th), we will be bringing together 50  artists, academics, and the terminally curious from across the UK (and even the world!) for a weekend of playful inquiry into psychogeography. Based in the city centre of Swansea, Wales, our conference consists of talks, walks, performances, films, workshops, installations, and games that all explore how place makes us feel. 

What is psychogeography? Come find out - your lived experience will speak for itself.Psychogeography is the fact “that you have an opinion about a space the moment you step into it,” says writer and psychogeographer Wilfried Hou Je Bek. We drift together to explore our connection to places in new, creative ways.

This years theme is Unchar(t)ed Territory, so get your pirate attitude on. 

The 2026 5th World Congress of Psychogeography consists of:

• Friday Film Night, Soiree, and Psychogeography Kaoroke (September 18th starting at 6.30); VENUE: Volcano Theatre.

We are a group of volunteers that banded together to take over the festivities after the formal closing of the 10th 4th World Congress in Swansea in October 2025, so this is a DIY and free conference for all the psychogeographers to attend! 

Free tickets tend to sell out quite quickly, so confirm your space ASAP.  If you're coming from further afield, the venues are 5 - 15 minute walk from Swansea train station and accessible venues.
