A Vertical Tasting of Clarendon Hills Astralis back to 1994

When Roman Bratasiuk made the first wine from the Astralis vineyard back in 1990, he picked the grapes himself and crushed them in a bucket using an empty Burgundy bottle. A biochemist by profession, Roman was happy learning to become a winemaker on the job. Little did he know that, in harnessing a small parcel of 1920-planted vines in the heart of Blewitt Springs to craft the Astralis Syrah, he was laying the groundwork for what would become one of Australia's most celebrated red wines.

Over 30 years later, Clarendon Hills crafts a range of single-vineyard wines from its sites in Blewitt Springs, Kangarilla and Clarendon, in the heart of McLaren Vale. Astralis, though, is its lodestar, having secured its spot in the Langtons classification, and as one of Australia's most collectable and critically acclaimed expressions of Shiraz.

To celebrate 30 years of Astralis, this intimate masterclass – hosted by second-generation Alex Bratasiuk – presents a singular opportunity to taste through eight exceptional vintages, including the inaugural 1994. We look forward to seeing you there.

Cancellations made within four days of the event are unfortunately not eligible for a refund. In the event the cancelled ticket can be reallocated/ reissued to waitlisted Member, a refund may be issued at the Club’s discretion.

• The Club reserves the right to postpone or cancel an event due to insufficient attendance, forces of nature, accidents or emergencies. In such cases, we will either refund the full cost of the course or arrange an alternative date.
• If any substitutions become necessary, we will ensure the value and quality of the replacements are equivalent.
• All Members and guests are required to maintain an appropriate standard of dress. As a rule of thumb, smart casual dress code applies, unless otherwise specified by the event.
• The legal drinking age is 18 years old in accordance with the Victorian law.

Ticketing

• Tickets may only be purchased by Members of 67 Pall Mall and Members should be present at the event. Members are welcome to bring non-members

• On the rare occasions when the speakers become unavailable, we will endeavour to reschedule the event. However, if there is less than 72 hours' notice, we will in most cases proceed as planned.
