Napa Valley and beyond, with Head Sommelier Shirley Tan

Mention California wine, and many people’s thoughts go no further than Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Yet the Golden State is today home to an increasingly varied array of wines, extending far beyond blockbuster Cabs.

Head Sommelier Shirley Tan is keen to showcase this diversity, and will be hosting a masterclass featuring California wines within both Napa Valley and the state’s lesser-known AVAs (American Viticultural Areas). Shirley has assembled a line-up across grape varietals and regions, from Albariño to Zinfandel, Calistoga to Sonoma, all aimed at illustrating the breadth and depth of California’s ever-expanding vinous landscape.

Shirley will be joined in this quest by Christopher Beros, Asia director at the California Wine Institute. Raised and educated in California, Christopher has lived primarily in Asia since 2007, when he founded the import business California-China Wine Trading.

We invite you to join Shirley and Christopher to uncover a new side of the state that dominates the US’s wine production, through a fascinating selection of wines.

• The Club reserves the right to postpone or cancel an event due to insufficient attendance, forces of nature, accidents or emergencies. In such cases, we will either refund the full cost of the course, or arrange an alternative date.
• If any substitutions become necessary, we will ensure the value and quality of replacement are equivalent.
• All Members and guests are required to maintain an appropriate standard of dress in the Club at all times. As a rule of thumb, smart casual dress code applies, unless otherwise specified by the event.
• The legal drinking age is 18 years old in accordance with the Singapore law.
• Club policy applies.

Ticketing

• Tickets may only be purchased by Members of 67 Pall Mall and Members should be present at the event. Members are welcome to bring non-members.
• Bookings are confirmed once payment is received. At this point, refunds are not possible. However, the place may be transferred to another Member.

Masterclasses

• On the rare occasions when the speakers become unavailable, we will endeavour to reschedule the event. However, if there is less than 72 hours’ notice, we will in most cases proceed as planned.
• Please note that masterclass tastings do not include a meal. Restaurant reservations can be made before or after the event. If reservations are unavailable, our reception team may be able to offer walk-up tables on the day.
