R. Paul Wilson has spent a lifetime navigating the fine line between illusion and deception. He is an author, a filmmaker, and a television host, but it's through the art of sleight of hand that he has explored some of the world’s oldest and most enduring psychological insights. As the creator and star of the BBC’s The Real Hustle, Paul demonstrated more cons on camera than most career swindlers pull off in a lifetime. Paul later distilled the lessons from his experiences into a book, The Art of the Con, a study in persuasion, misdirection, and human nature.

As a magician, what drives Paul is not the method behind a trick, but the deeper mechanics of belief—why we are drawn to deception and what that reveals about us. In, Stories I Can Tell, Paul will share mysteries and miracles that have helped shape his understanding of human nature. These are not just tricks, but markers along his personal path—touchstones that connect to past masters and present innovators, revealing how powerful illusion can be when we willingly lean in. 

Paul is one of the few magicians as thoughtful and eloquent as he is skillful. He was an early mentor to Dan & Dave and it's genuinely a touching, full-circle moment to have him open our second season at 69 Atlantic.
