It is a Perfectly Normal Day

As a world leader, that means it's barely managed chaos. Geopolitical tensions are high, humanitarian crises are breaking out, the economy is faltering, and the public is out for your blood.

It certainly would be a bad time for aliens to show up.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what's happening, according to a top-secret briefing from the military. The public doesn't know yet, but it won't stay secret for long.

This is a Megagame

The game will last 5-6 hours, with 30-40 players all playing at once. You'll make up part of a team of 4, collectively representing the government of your nation: the head of state, military leader, foreign secretary, and chief scientist. You'll work together within your team, each managing one part of your nation, and collaborate or compete with other nations to work out the best way to resolve the coming crisis.

The game is driven by simple mechanics and deal-making. There's also space for you to come up with creative solutions to problems - if there isn't a rule for the thing you want to do, we'll make one on the fly. Teams will need to make deals with each other, and a certain amount of deception or trickery may be involved in negotiations. Unlike many games, there's no single winner; many players can achieve their goals, and even for those who don't, their journey through the day forms part of the wider narrative.

You'll be assigned a role in the run-up to the game - and you'll have the chance to let us know what sort of role you want. There's a range of roles from purely roleplay and negotiation to resource management and logistics - with plenty of variety we'll aim to put you in the role that you'll find most fun.
