p h o r i a — a musical anthology

On August 8th, join 8TPS for p h o r i a, a musical anthology of new works by trans composers. Featuring six world premieres performed by an all-trans string quartet and vocal octet, this concert offers a new lexicon of trans experience expressed through an array of musical styles. Parking and access information
Paid parking is available in the LGBT Center's parking garage. Street parking is also available in the surrounding area. 

Parking and Accessibility Update 8/8:

The LA LGBT Center's primary elevator (from the parking garage to Bayard Rustin Plaza) is out of order and will not be repaired in time for this evening. There are other available pathways detailed below. Please use whichever pathway works best for you.

• For wheelchair users and other artists/audiences with disabilities, I’d recommend curbside drop-off and/or street parking if possible.
• For those parking in the garage, there are three ways back up to street level, each with varying levels of ease/access:

• 1 - The garage has a second elevator, (the “Admin Elevator,” as opposed to the “Plaza Elevator”); it can be accessed from the corner of the garage closest to the Santa Monica & McCadden intersection.
  • To get from the garage to the theatre:
    • Take that elevator up to level 1, and you’ll be let out inside the Center’s admin office; there will be a security supervisor sitting at the front desk, and they can help direct you towards the theatre.
    • When you exit the admin building, you’ll be facing Santa Monica Blvd. Go right, then turn right around the corner (where Liberation Coffee House is). Now you’ll be on McCadden; continue forward about a half block, and the entrance to the Courtyard will be on your left.
  • To get from the theatre to the garage:
    • Leave the Courtyard heading right on McCadden; when you reach the end of the block (Santa Monica), turn left. Go past Liberation, to the glass double doors on your left, and the security supervisor can buzz you into the building, then into the elevator so you can get back down to the garage.
• 2 - For some folks, it may be easier to just use the car ramp up & down from the garage as a pedestrian pathway. This is totally doable, but it’s steep, and please be mindful of vehicles (as that ramp was not intended to be a pedestrian pathway).

• 3 - Finally, there are two sets of stairs leading from the garage to street-level; one is on the McCadden side in the middle of the garage (and lets out right across the street from the Courtyard), and the other is on the Santa Monica side, and lets out a bit before the Admin office/elevators.
