MI CPL class August 29, 2026 by 906 Concealed Carry

This class meets and exceeds the Michigan Concealed Pistol certification legal requirements. This course deals with the aspect of protecting yourself, family & home with a self-defense handgun and understanding Michigan Deadly Force Law. The legal portion of our class is taught by attorneys well-versed in firearms law.  Topics covered include 1) Firearm safety and handling rules, 2) Types of Pistols, 3) Ammunition, 4) Shooting fundamentals and Range training, 5) How to Clear Stoppages and Malfunctions, 6) Avoiding Violent Confrontations, 7) Carrying your Firearm in Public.  

 Please bring a sack lunch and snacks. Bottled water and coffee will be provided.  Plan to wear clothing appropriate to weather conditions as the range is an outdoor setting.

Class starts at 8:30 AM and will run to AT LEAST 6:30 PM.

ARE YOU A BEGINNER SHOOTER?   PLEASE READ BELOW:  

This is not a beginner pistol skills class, HOWEVER, we will still cover some of the basics, but if  you feel you need basic instruction prior to class in pistol handling and shooting, we also offer a 4-hour First-Steps Pistol course in Basic Pistol Shooting and private/semi-private lessons as well. It is recommended if you are a new shooter that you at least schedule range time with us prior to your class date to get familiar with your firearm. You should already know how to safely handle/load/unload any firearm, safely deal with misfires and ejection failures and be able to keep a 5-inch group when shooting from a minimum of 15 feet distance. These skills are taught in our basic class and will be reviewed in this class.  If you are interested in taking both classes, there is a discount offered of $20 on the second class.   However, if you are a beginner, there is no need to worry as 99% percent of new shooters are able to complete the CPL qualification range portion with little to no trouble at all.  

That being said....If you are unable to shoot and pass the qualifier round at the class, you have the option to stay late and retry the qualifier at no extra charge.  If you need to schedule another day to reshoot the qualifier, there will be a rescheduled shoot time and a reshoot fee of $45.  Arrangements are the responsibility of the student to contact us to set up a reshoot time.
