Immerse yourself in Portugal. We've planned a weekend of virtual cultural experiences that will give you new insights into this country on the edge of Europe. Our Portugal Untours staff will introduce you to Lisbon, Sintra, and Porto. Sample Portuguese cuisine that you create under the guidance of an expert cook. Learn about popular and undiscovered Portuguese wines. Enjoy a private Fado experience and chat with the performer after.

• Fado is described as Portugal's version of the blues, soulful, melancholy music often sung by women. A professional performer in Lisbon will spend an hour with us. She will perform and talk a bit about this unique style of music.

• João, who lives in Sintra and has guided groups all over Portugal, will discuss the Age of Discovery in Portugal. You'll see plenty of pictures of Lisbon and Sintra as part of the presentation.

• Get a taste of Portugal by making a three course meal with an experienced chef.
  • Bacalhau à Brás is a popular dish made from salted cod, onions, fried potatoes, and scrambled eggs. (The salted cod can be substituted with chicken, shrimp, or vegetables.)
  • Tempura green beans
  • Orange Roll (typical dessert from the southern region of Algarve)
• Marta, our Porto Untour rep, introduces us to the wine country of Portugal. Come with a bottle of any Portuguese wine to sample and discuss.
  
• Watch (on your own time) the classic thriller set in Portugal, Night Train to Lisbon and discuss with João and the group.
  
• Satisfy your sweet tooth by making Pastel de Nata, a popular custard tart.
  
• Dive into art history with Marta as she explains the importance of Porto's rich Baroque tradition.
  
• Finish the weekend by enjoying your Pastel de Nata  with a glass of port wine (BYO) while learning about port with Marta in Porto.
