Program: Cherina Betters, Ed.D., Chief of Equity and Access for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools and Board Clerk for the San Bernardino Community College District, will present “Forward, Together.” Her program will focus on conditions for positive student engagement while cultivating a sense of belonging for every student - especially those students coming from traumatic or minoritized backgrounds such as basic needs insecurities, foster youth, race/ethnicity and students with exceptional needs. Dr. Betters promotes positive learning conditions through physical, psychological and emotional safety in an affirming environment. She will recommend how schools and the general community can support students and ensure an equitable and inclusive learning environment and a trust-laden society rooted in care and connection.
