The Origins of Abney Park
Join us on the day of our community stall for a walking tour to hear about the Origins of Abney Park, with Alan Gartrell. This talk focuses on the appalling condition of Victorian churchyards (as mentioned in Dickens' Bleak House), The Magnificent Seven, non-conformists, the unique position of Abney Park and its opening ceremony, the avoidance of burial fees, as well as the contributions of George Collison.
This tour is free - donations are welcome. Register, or join us on the day.
Please meet near the Abney Park Trust community stall.
From the Stoke Newington High Street entrance, please meet at the far end of the pedestrian walkway - where the path splits into three.
