UNDERWORLD: ABYSS
Underworld: Abyss is a deep sea eco cabaret that takes place in the carcass of a fallen whale.
It tells the story of a traveling underwater performance troupe led by a giant squid and a drag king crab, whose relationship is strained when the squid has a prophecy that leads to an obsession with the human realm. As the squid collects fallen trinkets and debris, the crab scrambles to protect their deep sea paradise from the world above –a world he knows all too well.
A hybrid theatre project filled with fishy and fathomless music, drag, puppetry, and performance art, Underworld: Abyss invites audiences into a weird queer utopia on the verge of collapse.
