This event will be an opportunity to hear from member institutions about their activities in civic engagement, with particular reference to Library/University of Sanctuary activity.
There will be three speakers, a panel Q&A and time for discussions.
The programme will be confirmed asap but the speakers are:
Layla Bloom, University of Leeds
Layla will provide an update on how the Libraries' programming has developed since achieving University of Sanctuary status in 2025, and will also consider how sanctuary intersects with civic engagement, and specifically how libraries can provide support.
Jenny Warren, University of Chester
Jenny will update on library involvement with the University of Sanctuary application process and award, sharing key relationships (including university Sanctuary lead, and local City of Sanctuary group), plus ongoing activities to build and promote collections to support understanding and learning around the sanctuary seeking experience.
Kitty Lees-Edmondson, University of Hull
Kitty's content will be confirmed asap.
